How does this work?

The purpose of Form I-9 is for your employer to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States. Will I meet with a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is not required to complete Form I-9 and it is a violation of most state laws for a Notary to notarize the form. As you may have discovered, most Notaries do not provide this service; are not knowledgeable of Form I-9 rules; and may complete the form incorrectly. And many Notaries charge $50 or more.
